Those who have meditated on the art of governing human kind have been convinced that the fate of an empire depends on the Education of the Youth.

I am indeed humbled to serve as the Chairman of Board of Management (BoM) of Gachoire Girls High school. It is goal unity in the whole fraternity of the school while working towards strengthening the academic performance of the school.

Gachoire Girls High School is well endowed with resources, standing on a 32-acres of highly agricultural land and a student population of approximately 1,000 students.

The school has grown in leaps and bounds, from humble beginnings of being a Mixed “Harambee” School with about a dozen students in the early 90s, to its current status as a County Girls School, ear-marked as one of the schools most improved academic performance.

I wish to note with a lot of satisfaction that in the year 2016, our school registered a commendable improvement in the KSCE performance and was awarded the Best Improved Sub- County School being 3^rd ranked at the Sub-County.

As a member of the BoM, our role revolves around systems of education and improving the academic standards of the school, utilization and control of scarce resources against prime requirements needed for the smooth running of the school and the well-being of the students

As the school celebrates its social excellence and academic achievements we must strive to uphold the high standard of facilities and equipment facilitating the process of learning in Gachoire Girls. Towards this end, the BOM has undertaken a number of projects in 2016/2017, which are meant to modernize and digitalize the learning and operations at Gachoire Girls. Some notable projects are, Development of this School website, Installation of CCTV Surveillance, Installation of Library Management System, Installation of Accounts Management System, Networking of Computers in the Computer lab, Construction of the New Science Complex, and Development of a 6-year Strategic Plan, just to name a few.

We are currently working at a developing a 6-year Strategic Plan aimed at improving quality and efficient provision of high standard education in the school. This will enhance the utilization of the huge school resources, and increase the number of students admitted to public universities as well as improving and increasing the number of quality grades.

Our main objective is to achieve high academic excellence accompanied by high values of discipline, hard work, honesty, team work, attention to detail and assertiveness, and in line with our mission, vision statements and our core values, which we truly believe in.

Finally, a fact that cannot refuted, is that Gachoire Girls High school has grown into a major repository of knowledge and spiritual growth. Our aim is to boast an even more successful Alumni in the near future.

I will fail if I conclude without sincerely thanking all persons who have walked and continue walking with the school over the years and who to date provide their unwavering support, to wit, The Principal, the Academic, Administrative and Support staff of Gachoire Girls High School, the BOM and its Committees, The PA and Class representatives, the sponsor, The Presbyterian Church of East Africa, and most important of all, all the parents.
